I mean most students going to CS are influnced by several reasons: family, Internet, salary, perfect work life balance? etc. Ask youself do you really like the theory of computation? Are you good with applied math? CS is not just programming. Not saying you need to like it, but to become a very good computer scientist you really need passion.

I don't understand Why A.I progress is oriented towards replacing hard-working employees. Competent and skilled employees who are going to be laid off due to A.I is going to create a significant increase amount of unemployment which is gonna have negative effect on the economy, perhaps the rise of A.I is going to create more damage to overall economy than any good. If millions of people are laid off, cooperation's will loose customers. Perhaps we're entering an unpredictable and chaotic times.

I don’t think you’ve used anything other than OpenAI’s gpt. Claude 3.5 is fucking amazing and there’s a new llm coming out almost every month now recently it’s synthesia 2.0. Im not saying we’re losing our jobs soon but I 100% can see myself having a son and him asking me “why do I need to know x when u can just use (insert LLM)”. Similar to my generation 2000’s where we’ve has Google our entire life meanwhile people in their 30’s use to go to libraries to get a fraction of our access to information. Schools forced you to memorize formulas thinking you will need that and now I can just be familiar with the concept and lookup the formula as needed. I think as a cs student like I am now you are hurting yourself if you don’t start getting use to using these llm and understand them well similar to early internet.

This video is good, even great i would say. But remember everyone has a different story, a different upbringing, a different take on life. I guess how you brand the word “successful” and being ahead of everyone matters. I grew up in a very conservative poor family in Nepal and now as a 30 year old farmer, just started to learn about computers. I am doing pretty well. I live up in the mountains and From farming and livestock i make around $17,000 a year which is no where close to $70,000 - $300,000. But it is a decent amount in a country where the minimum wage is $200 per month. So things are different, there is not a golden rule that fits for all. workout, stay fit, eat healthy, eat good thats great But remember to Enjoy your life too.
